MomsCorner Privacy Policy

MomsCorner cares about your personal information and how it is used and shared. This privacy policy discloses how we collect, use and share information gathered about you on our website. We also encourage you to read our Terms of  Service

WHAT TYPES OF INFORMATION ARE MOMSCORNER COLLECTING AND HOW IS THE SITE COLLECTING IT?

Information You Provide

Account-Related Activity. Activities on MomsCorner—such as posting comments and joining groups—require you to have a MomsCorner Account. We ask for some personal information when you create a MomsCorner Account, including your email address and a password, which is used to protect your account from unauthorized access.

Usage Information. We may record information about your usage, such as when you use MomsCorner, the groups you subscribe to, the contacts you communicate with, and the frequency and size of data transfers, as well as information you display or click on in MomsCorner (including user interface elements, settings, and other information). If you are logged in, we may associate that information with your account. We may use clear images such as GIFs (a.k.a. "Web Beacons") in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened by recipients.

Content Uploaded to Site. Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose online becomes viewable by the general public and can be collected and used by others.

Information Collected from You with Technology

Using certain technology, MomsCorner collects certain information about you, so it may not be obvious to you that it is being collected. That information may include your IP address, your domain server, your type of computer, your type of web browser, and statistical information regarding the pages that you visit. MomsCorner uses information collected through technology to make our sites more interesting and useful to you. For example, statistical information can help us track which areas of a site are more popular, so that we can better customize content to the interests of our members. We will combine information collected using technology with personally identifiable information only to identify a visitor in order to protect our service, site, guests or others, when required by law, or when needed to help resolve a technical issue a guest may be having while viewing the site.

Information that is Publicly Available

When you create an account on the site, some information about your account and your account activity will be provided to other users of the site. This may include the date you opened your account, the date you last logged into your account, and your age (if you choose to make it public).

Your account name (not your email address) is displayed to other users when you engage in certain activity on the site, such as when you post messages on the MomsCorner website. Other users can contact you through messages and comments.
You may also choose to add personal information that will be visible to other users on your member profile page (which is the public facing page for your account on the site). This may include a profile picture, your name, or other details.

If you choose to use certain features of the website, your activity associated with these features will be displayed to other users and may be aggregated and shared with your confirmed friends or other users. Such shared activity may include what posts you “like.”

HOW DOES MOMSCORNER USE THE COLLECTED INFORMATION?

If you submit personally identifiable information to us through the MomsCorner website, we use your personal information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the general and personalized features and functionality of the MomsCorner website. We also use your personal information to process any flagging activity or correspondence you send to us.

Your account name (not your email address) is displayed to other users when you upload content or send messages through the MomsCorner website. Other users can contact you through messages and comments. We will never use your email address or other personally identifiable information to send commercial or marketing messages without your consent except as part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability to opt-in or opt-out by visiting your member profile page. We may, however, use your email address without further consent for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as notifying you of major MomsCorner website changes or for customer service purposes).

We also use information collected to notify you if you've won a contest and to send you e-mail updates and newsletters. You may opt-out of any email updates, newsletters and contests in the future by visiting your member profile page.

We use cookies, clear images such as GIFs, and log file information to: (a) store information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the MomsCorner website; (b) provide custom, personalized content and information; (c) monitor the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns; (d) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, pages viewed, etc.; and (e) track your entries, submissions, and status in promotions, sweepstakes, and contests.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (like Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari) settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you won't have access to some MomsCorner features that make your Web experience more efficient, and some services may not function properly.

DOES MOMSCORNER SHARE INFORMATION WITH COMPANIES OR OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE NOT A PART OF THE MOMSCORNER WEBSITE?

MomsCorner allows other companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to serve advertisements within the MomsCorner website. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send, directly to your browser, the advertisements and links that appear on the MomsCorner website. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content you see.
MomsCorner does not provide any personally identifiable information to these third-party ad servers or ad networks without your consent or except as part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability to opt-in or opt-out. However, please note that if an advertiser asks MomsCorner to show an advertisement to a certain audience (for example, women age 18-34) or audience segment (for example, women age 18-24 who have viewed certain channels of content) and you respond to that advertisement, the advertiser or ad-server may conclude that you fit the description of the audience they are trying to reach. The advertiser may also use information regarding your use of the MomsCorner website, such as the number of times you viewed an ad (but not any personally identifiable information), in order to determine which ads you may want to see.

You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers or ad networks (see links below) for more information on their practices and for instructions on how to opt-out of certain practices. MomsCorner's privacy policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or websites. Any data obtained by third-party ad servers subsequently shared with MomsCorner is maintained and handled by MomsCorner in accordance with this privacy policy.

You are the most valuable asset to our business. We are not in the business of selling your information. However, if there is a value for our guests, we will share your information or send you messages on behalf of another company. For example, if you buy a MomsCorner T-shirt, we need to share your information with any companies we hire to help us deliver products or services, like a shipping company. Or, if we offer a promotion--like sweepstakes or free subscriptions--in conjunction with a sponsor, we will share your information with the sponsors if they need it to send you a product, such as a magazine subscription or contest prize. We may share your information with those sponsors so that they can send you other special promotions they offer, but only if you give us your permission to do so, and we will share it only with that specific sponsor. In addition, MomsCorner may occasionally send e-mail promotions on behalf of third-party sponsors. In this instance, we don't share your name with the third party--we do the mailing for them. Furthermore, MomsCorner may send email newsletters from our marketing and editorial team to inform you of new content, services, member updates and general updates. We may also share your information with our corporate affiliates, including, but not limited to, any entity directly or indirectly controlling, controlled by, or under common control with us.

Organizations That Help Protect the Security and Safety of Our Guests and Our Sites

We will give out personal information as required by law, for example, to comply with a court order or subpoena; to enforce our Terms and Conditions, or site rules; or to protect the safety and security of guests and our website.

WHAT CHOICES DO I HAVE ABOUT MOMSCORNER COLLECTING, USING, AND SHARING MY INFORMATION?

When you register with us or give us personally identifiable information, you will have an opportunity at the time we collect your information to limit e-mail communications from MomsCorner and from our third-party partners. You can request at any time that MomsCorner not send future e-mail to you by unsubscribing by using the instructions included in each e-mail. Also, as mentioned above, there are ways to limit the information collected through technology--though some of our features won't work if you decide to do this. For the safety of minors, we request that children under the age of 18 not fill out any personal information on our website without first receiving the approval of a parent or guardian.
You may update or correct your personal profile information and email preferences at any time in the future by visiting your member profile page.

WILL YOU MAKE CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY?

As our business adjusts to customer needs and requests, and Internet laws change, this privacy policy may be amended as necessary. Use of the information that we gather now is subject to the privacy policy in effect at time of use. We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update or modify this privacy policy simply by posting such change, update or modification on the website.
